Here we are in Lucas, Texas just about 25 minutes north or east of Rockwall. For me it is south but you know my directional challanged mind. Jo Carol’s brother (Keith) has been gracious enough to allow us to live with him until we are able to get our own place.
Jo Carol’s job is going just fine, she is loving meeting new friends at work and learning how to help them understand the new changes they are facing.
I must find a job to bring in enough income so we can get a home in Rockwall. Every thing is on hold as far as starting meetings until we move. Right now I am working part time at edible arrangaments delivering fruit, yes that is right so stop laughing. That is the only job I can find at the time. I have applied for a job at AT&T now waiting on a phone call to see when I start. I have also applied to the Rockwall police dept. It may be two weeks before I hear from them. Until something comes through we are stuck in Lucas. Pray for the job to come through asap.
I have talked to a few people about attending a Bible study when I am able to start one. They are interested so we have a few people waiting for us to start.
While things are not moving as fast as I would like, God is working on His time table not mine. Pray that we will learn to wait on His timing for everything.
October 9-15 we will be in Grand Rapids Michigan for the Missions Conference at Heritage Baptist Church. Pastor Moore was kind enough to invite us. We are looking forward to being part of that great conference and seeing some friends we have not seen in some time.
Joe and Jo, It has been great to see you again at HBC. We have wonderful memories of your years here. We know the Lord is going to use you in an awesome to reach the people of Rockwall.
Mike, Laura, and Camden
It was SO great seeing you both while you were in Grand Rapids for the missions conference, and spending time at Bella Mia last night! This blog is a great idea, to keep those of us who live far away updated both on you and the fam, and on the progress of the church. Thanx so much! You can depend on all your friends here praying for you constantly, that everything will be done in His time.
Love and prayers,
Kathy
The missions conference at Heritage was wonderful. The missionary families were great and Dr. Pattersons messages were wonderful.
As always pastor Moore and Faye were great host, they treated us like kings even though we are not leaving the USA. Someone in the church provided us with a van to drive while we were there and that was awsome.
We stayed with Rick and Denise Manning. They are just great to be around. Luke was gracious enough to allow us to use his room while he slept in the game room. It was great to see most of our old friends and catch up on some old memories. God allowed us to stop by and spend some time with John Hollemans, and his family. That may be the last time we get to see him on this side of heaven and I am so thankful we did.
We are back home now, I start at AT&T on Friday and we are moving closer to finding a house to move into. Keep praying that God will direct us to the right house.
Dear Bro. Joe and Mrs. McCormick,
Michael Winder was just passing through Charlotte on his way to a family reunion. As we were thinking back through our years at Temple, we thought we would find out how you are doing. We are excited about what God is doing through you all in Texas and that you are trusting His leading by faith. We covenant to pray with you in this endeavor, and look forward to reading about the great things that God uses you to accomplish for His glory and the impact you will have for His kingdom.
Bro. Shaw & Bro. Winder
Hey! What a treat to be able to spend a few moments with you and our few of our dear friends! We will check back for updates from time to time so don’t forget to keep current.
And keep your chain clean–you can always come north for ten days in any given summer!
Pass along our love to the boys. We love and miss you all…errr, y’all.
David, Joanne, and Shannon
Hi Joe and Jo Carol,
I hope you are doing well. Joe, email to what is going on. I have been in contact with several Bryan alums in Texas so we might be having a reunion there. I will keep you updated.
Have a blessed Thanksgiving.
We are all doing well here. “Maddog” is ready to start basketball again.
Blessings to all
Steve
Here it is January 7, 2008 and it is hard to beleive how quickly time passes. Since I last wrote Jo Carol and I have finally been able to purchase a home. Our address is 197 Cox dr. Fate, Texas 75163. Our mailing address is still PO. Box 12 Rockwall, Texas 75087. The Lord has been good to us and given us a very nice home.
Jonathon was able to come home for Christmas and it was good to spend some time with him. He is doing well and still working hard of finding the right part to launch his acting career.
James will be starting broadcasting school in February or March. He has decided he wants to be a radio broadcaster.
This Sunday Jo Carol and I have eight people invited to attend our Sunday Morning Bible Study, the Lord willing they will all show up. Now that we are in our home we can began to push harder on building the church.
I work at AT&T now which takes a lot of time, there have been several days where I have worked 12 hours. That makes it difficult to get things going in the church plant. However, we are still excited about what God is doing through us here in Rockwall.
Several people have encouraged us in starting a church, I have been suprised at the amount of people the Lord has directed me to through my job that are intrested in what we are doing.
Just keep praying for our strength and wisdom to follow God as He sees fit to bring the right people into our lives.
I was just entering your prayer card in my outlook folder and saw the web address. So exciting! We were so sorry to have missed seeing you at the missions conference. We were out of the country celebrating our 32nd anniversary or we would have been there.
We are praying for you and know that God is working in and thru your efforts. Drop us a line to keep in touch.
We love you!
